List contents of boxes on all four sides; number the boxes and seal with tape.

Start by gathering as many boxes as you think you will need as well as tape, markers, and packing material (e.g., foam shipping noodles, bubble wrap, packing paper or towels).

Make up an inventory list of your items and keep it in a safe place (at home or in a safe deposit box) away from the unit.

Pictures and mirrors should be wrapped in cardboard, marked “FRAGILE” and stacked on end.

Wipe any items made of metal – bikes, metal tables, tools, etc. – with machine oil to prevent rusting.

Cover stuffed furniture with cardboard or blankets to protect against dust.

Rent the smallest amount of space you will need, and pack the unit full.

Place your storage items on 2×4 boards or on pallets to guard against dampness. Any concrete floor may become cold and damp.

Do not store anything COMBUSTIBLE (e.g., paint thinner, gasoline, propane, solvents, or paint).

Stack heavier boxes on the bottom and lighter boxes on top.

Tables that have removable legs should be broken down to save space.

Avoid placing sharp or heavy objects on top of upholstered furniture.

If possible, try to use uniformly sized boxes for easy stacking.

Be sure your boxes are strong enough to hold 25-30 pounds (although we suggest not putting too much in each box).

Dishes and glasses should be wrapped in paper and packed in sturdy boxes. Stack them on top.

Larger appliances make excellent “packaging cases” for blankets, towels, tablecloths and clothes.

Shovels, hoes, rakes, and hoses can be stored together in empty garbage cans. Stack extra cans inside each other.

Furniture with drawers can be utilized as storage places for pictures, knick-knacks, china, silverware, small items, etc. Wrap them in tablecloths, towels, or blankets to prevent breakage.

Prepare your space by placing a protective cover on the floor under your goods.

Plan your storage space. Place items that you may need to access often in the front of the unit.

Try to leave an aisle down the center of the storage unit for easier access. Leave a small space between the walls and boxes to allow for air circulation.

Put TVs and other electronics in the rear of your unit.

Sofas and loveseats can be stored on end to save floor space. Wrap cushions in plastic and place on top of sofas.

If you stand mattresses on their sides, prop them up so they stand straight. Otherwise, they tend to bend out of shape and become lumpy.

You can move in anytime during the month. The cost is prorated after the first 5 days of the month, for the remainder of the month.

Reservation deposits are NOT required. You can do an inquiry without providing your credit card information and we can hold a unit for you this way as well.

The facility is entirely fenced, with 24-hour video and camera surveillance. The gate and heated buildings are locked and accessible via card reader.  After hour security patrols are done 7 days a week. Access is 7 days a week 365 days a year, 5:30 am to 10:30 pm.

We have both indoor (unheated) and outdoor sites available. Call 403-503-0738 for details.

We accept payment by cash, cheque, auto withdrawal, debit or credit card, and email transfer. Our clients can come into the office to make a payment, pay online, or have automatic payments set up. We provide these options to meet your needs.

Alberta Storage Place offers optional content insurance for your convenience, for a low monthly fee. You are not obligated to purchase insurance but you can purchase it for your peace of mind. We recommend you check with your Insurance Agent to determine if your goods are covered and if not we are able to offer coverage.

If you lose your access card, report to our Site Manager immediately so the card can be deactivated. After hours call our office at 403-503-0738 and leave a message so we can address this matter immediately. With written consent your lock can be removed and a new lock purchased in the office.

You can supply your own lock or purchase one from our on-site store.

We require valid photo ID issued from a government agency, and a valid credit card.

New customers can reserve or rent a storage unit on the phone or online. You can come to the office during regular office hours, or scan and email your documents to us and come into the office to pick up your access card, or after hour access can be arranged.

We have a one month storage commitment. To cancel we require 30 days clear written notice, prior to the end of any calendar month. Please note: there is a minimum six month rental for RV and Yard Storage.

You can change your unit/space on short notice and we will transfer you to a unit that meets your needs, as long as we have the availability.

You can store almost anything at Alberta Storage Place as long as it is not perishable, flammable or illegal!
